WindowsXP Professional ステップアップグレード

　会社のホスト入れ替えでドタバタしてて，自分の仕事が捗らない今日この頃，いかがお過ごしでしょうか。

　社内のネットワーク環境でドメインを使っていたけど，オレだけは使わずに来た(笑)。別に除け者にされていたわけじゃない。そもそもウチの会社ではドメインを使う必要もなかったので，余っていたWindowsXP Home Editionをインストールしていたわけ。ゆえにドメインに参加できなかったわけですが，今度のホスト入れ替えでドメインを使う必要がでてきた罠。

　Home Editionでドメイン参加できないから新しいPCを買ってくれ～と言おうと思ったが，たぶん却下されるだろうなぁ……不注意を装って液晶モニターを押して落下させるのもいいかなぁと思って書いてみたが，書いてる途中でモニター壊して意味ないことに気付いた。まぁ何にせよ，新しくWindowsXP Professionalをインストールするのもアレかと思っていたら，WindowsXP SP2がリリースされてから，Home→ProにアップグレードできるMicrosoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Windows XP Home Edition ユーザー限定 ステップ アップグレードも一緒にリリースされてたんですな。SP1の時も発売になってたよね。期間限定なんだよね。

　WindowsXP再インストールより手っ取り早いかと思ったので買ってきました。早速，インストールするか……。

サクッとWindowsXP Professionalになった。楽チン。

うちのおニューのAthlon64機、Windows2000ですけど、なにか？
WinXPだと新たな機能が追加されるけど‥。
というのも、XPの64bit版まちだったりするわけで、
もったいなくて、今はWinXP買えない‥。

このWin2000が原因で、Dパーテーションのデーター（約70GB)吹っ飛ばしました。
レジストリ書き換えてBigDriveに対応させたつもりだったのですが、書き変わってないまま読み書きしたもんで(T.T)

CRTが「バチッ」っと言う音とともにブラックアウト！
NANAOの製品だったので３年の保証期間内。
ブラウン管（は１年）ではないので無償修理で帰ってきました。

新規購入も考えましたが、もうCRTって申し訳程度にしか作られてないのにびっくりしました。

昨日はウチの上司のWindows2000マシンだけトラブってて残業モードになりました。とほほです。

それにしてもHDDデータ吹っ飛ばしたり，CRT壊れたり散々ですな。(笑)

こちらもドメインを設定していませんが、ドメインがあると何が便利ですか？

社内ネットワークなどでは，ユーザーの管理とPC間-PC間の共有ファイルのしやすさでしょうかね。名前でアクセスできますしね。

あまりネットワークに詳しくないので，その程度のことしか利点を感じていませんが。(爆)
